Even with current policy commitments and government mandates to address environmental concerns, according to EIA Resources to Reserves, the global energy demand in 2035 is projected to rise by 40% – with fossil fuels still contributing 75%.
Societal implications, particularly the demand for an environmentally sustainable, low-carbon future, will be pivotal to their continued use. Advances in technology are essential to ensure that fossil fuels remain affordable and clean.
